Downtown's new talk program on TBS at 10pm Wednesdays is to be called Suiyoubi no Downtown, starting on the 23rd this month: http://www.tbs.co.jp/suiyobinodowntown/

Premise of the program:

It's another talk program but this time with celebrities presenting their views on certain topics. Seems a bit similar to Hakase Academy... hope it goes well anyway.

Well, that is certainly interesting. Sounds like Downtown needs to sit down and have a talk. |(

Too bad they won't talk to each other pretty much.

Yeah..
I think a recent exception was the backstage of the ii tomo last episode though
Looks like Suiyoubi no Downtown has made the news in raising a story about schools and hospitals, becoming quite a hot topic:

http://news.livedoor.com/article/detail/8859758/

Seems like it had something to do with the usage of models of the human body and its inner workings. A lot of references were made to the cost of these models and apparently some schools and unis in Japan refuse to cover the workings of the human body or something like that (if I'm translating this correctly. If I'm wrong then do tell, don't wanna be misleading :worried: ).

I know it's a bit of a strange topic but I just remembered that I hadn't updated this thread in a while so there you go. If you wanna watch the episode in question, here you go: http://youtubeowaraitv.blog32.fc2.com/blog-entry-43699.html

EDIT: Looking at the title of the episode, it says 理科室の人体模型、ただのインテリア説, translating to 'the science room's human body mannequin is just part of the interior theory'. I'm not entirely sure what this means but it seems like it costs a lot for these mannequins to be built and they're not really used at all for meaningful purposes. Seems like an interesting topic... or my translation is a bit sloppy. Still, this episode apparently netted the program its first double digit ratings in its existence so it's certainly resonated with TV audiences.
I've watched the episode.
It's about the belief that "the human models in science labs are just part of the interior decoration"
The show investigated if it was being used in lessons or just there. All the manufacturers and almost all schools declined interviews.
It turns out that no one has used it in lessons before, and also that all schools are required to have at least one.
Interesting. I could be wrong but I don't think they're a standard in the UK.... I just remember using biology books. It does seem a bit unnecessary in this day and age when they can just use a digital projector screen for all kinds of teaching, anatomy or otherwise.
Tanaka's got into the news for finding a white isopod while filming his TV show 'I am Adventure Boy' on TBS. Someone can tell me otherwise but are these extremely rare or something? Anyway, isopods are apparently a very popular thing in Japan so they've covered it here: http://mantan-web.jp/2014/06/17/20140616dog00m200034000c.html
I like how Tanaka's current big news compares to Hamada's, this is why they have such trouble finding dirt on him for the batsus
Anyway congrats to Tanaka, maybe they'll eventually name a rare species after him! :)

Hamada's had stories about him feeling frustrated by public attention at times, like the story of his family on holiday from one of the batsus, so perhaps he doesn't want to draw undue attention to himself. But yeah, Hamada does seem to get dragged in sometimes just out of association. Like when Lincoln did that Twitter challenge and despite not being part of it someone made a fake Hamada account, it was taken down after it was revealed Hamada had no intention of joining Twitter. Hamada's wife is active on Twitter and blogs frequently but you don't see Hamada get involved with it all much.

Thought it was interesting to see Matsumoto following this fake hamada account https://twitter.com/hamachanhamada :D :D

According to the article, Tanaka found an albino of the species.

This 'I am bouken shonen' show is fun to watch so far. Tanaka seem to be having a lot of fun during the location shoots.
Any video of tanaka tv show?

This week will welcome the 26th edition of Matsumoto's Suberanai Hanashi starting from 9pm Japan time this Saturday: http://www.fujitv.co.jp/suberanai/index.html
I just happened upon this thread while searching for info. I love search engines! There is very good information here.

I, too, am stunned that Downtown don't really hang out, despite still being known as Downtown. Hey, even family need some space! They still crack each other up when they're together, so it's better than when a band breaks up.
