Been a while but a quick news update for now. Matsumoto now has a new program that will air on midnight Thursdays on TBS called 'Crazy Johnny', which is also cohosted by Bananaman's Shitara Osamu and model Koike Eiko. It was previously broadcast on New Year's Day as a one off special but now will have regular broadcasts starting from Spring (around April).

Downtown are getting a new variety show starting from the 17th of April tentatively titled 'Downtown Now'. Roughly translating, it's a talk variety show which is supposed to be airing in the same day and timeslot as the currently running 'Kyokun no Susume', also hosted by Downtown so it seems that program will come to an end. Not really sure what they're going to discuss, although it does mention 'accidents and happenings' and celebrities together so it may be a digging into incidents from various celebrities' personal lives.

「ダウンタウン」の松本人志（５１）が１５日放送のＴＢＳ「水曜日のダウンタウン２時間スペシャル」（後９・００）で自身初の番組ロケを敢行。覆面レスラーに変身し、肉体美を披露する。

　科学的根拠などはないが、自分が信じ込む「説」を検証するトーク＆情報エンターテインメント番組。今回は「松本人志がメキシコからきた謎のマスクマンとしてプロレス会場に登場してもバレない説」が提唱され、その検証がなされた。

　３月中旬、埼玉県内で行われたプロレス団体「ドラゴンゲート」の大会。松本は覆面レスラー「エル・チキンライス」に姿を変え、タッグマッチのサイバー・コング＆ＣＩＭＡ＆ドン・フジイ組のセコンドに。試合を盛り上げた。

　リングネームになった「チキンライス」は松本が自身の少年時代のエピソードを基に作詞を担当した２００４年発売の曲。槇原敬之（４５）が作曲し、相方の浜田雅功（５１）が歌っている。

　松本は日頃から鍛え上げたムキムキのボディーも披露。マスクの下は正体は、観客にバレているのか、いないのか…。試合中の意外な展開も注目される。
