I recently made a trip to the NTV Tower gift shop to pick up some Gaki no Tsukai merchandise. It is all ridiculously overpriced, but very fun! A surprising fact was that there is not that much Matsumoto products. Hamada had playing cards, Heipo had notebooks and keyrings, same as Cocorico and Yamasaki; but very little Matsumoto stuff was available.

Are those product only sale in that store? Are they more expensive than regular products?
I love the folder you bought! I always thought the caricature drawings of the crew were really cool, do you know who the artist is? Man I’m jealous, I would love one of those folders to store my own artwork hahah How much did it cost if you don’t mind me asking (and are they only available as an instore thing)?

I live in Japan, just not around this area. It was my first time visiting. This area is mainly business related, there are some nice restaurants and of course, the studio Ghibli clock. Which is just up the stairs from the NTV store. I made a video of it here:

To be honest all the stuff there is crazy overpriced. 7 dollars for a pen, 10 dollars for a notebook and 25 dollars up for a t shirt (M & L sizes only)
The folder was discounted though, I got it for the equivalent of about 5 dollars. They have a few others, all Heipo related.
The weird thing was the lack of Matsumoto merch. He is my favorite of the team and I was really hoping to find some t-shirt or something else. All they had were socks vaguely resembling him and the action figure.

The Obachan ones can be seen in the photos, apart from that they had GASU printed shirts. Just white with the logo for about 30 dollars. I didn’t see any caps, either.
Nice! I went to see the Ghibli clock not that long ago, I had no idea it was the NTV tower… I have to go back next summer!
I’ve seen quite a few videos of them shot there, do you think we can see them with a lot of patience? That would be great!

Actually that sounds pretty cheap, or at least relatively in line with prices for the same items here in the UK. I would have no problem paying that much for merchandise
Shame there wasn’t a lot of Matsumoto stuff I agree, he’s my favourite too - maybe he doesn’t allow his image to be licensed as much as the others? That would make sense considering how private he was during that behind-the-scenes documentary he did.
