[MU] Dai-Nipponjin (Subbed)

Anyone has seen this brilliant movie ( Matsumoto first movie as a director )
I just loved it, Matsumoto is a great actor, and some of the shots were splendid. The ending totally surprised me ;)

The ending was the best part I think. I wish they did the whole move in that cheesy ultra-man style.

I thought the CGI in the movie was a little cheap and lame. Overall a pretty rad movie though.

I tend to think it the CG lameness was done on purpose ( cause Yoshimoto Kogyo is one of the wealthiest entertainment company in Japan ) to stick to the old shows ( like Ultraman ) Matsumoto used to watch. but yeah a pretty rad movie :)

Here’s 2 torrent links to download it

Thanks for the torrents ;)

The first torrent is with sub, right?

PS: … T’es… Français? :D

I also watched it in the time where I first saw GnT. But watching the movie was an exident :D It came randomly on a site and I watched it till end without falling to sleep :D But I also recongnized Matsumoto imidiately :)

Watched the movie last week and loved it. I found it very interesting in a lot of levels, especially the final scene. Is that really how the world looks like and all the cg we saw previously just stuff that the documentary studio made? Or maybe Dai-Nipponjin died and what we saw was heaven for fighting monsters? Also, the final scene may have been a political allegory of the relationship between Japan, the US, and N. Korea. Its a great movie, its incredible that Matsumoto did this! Hopefully he has a long career directing movies when he’s not having fun with Hamada and the boys.

Dainipponjin (Big Man Japan)

Matsumoto directed, produced, and starred in this 2007 movie, “Dainipponjin” which means “Giant Japanese”, the English title is “Big Man Japan”. It was shown at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival in the Directors’ Fortnight section.

A man known as Masaru Daisato (Matsumoto) has inherited the duty of protecting Japan against various kaiju. He is able to grow several stories high, through the power of electricity. and does battle with kaiju, but he is regarded as an outcast by his fellow citizens.

This movie is High Quality with English subtitles.

I bought the DVD to Dai-Nipponjin (Big Man Japan) today because it’s released in UK now… I’ve watched it all now and to be honest I thought it was quite good… I like the story and the ending was un-expected ^^ I love the ending to this movie… it was Awesome and I fell to the floor laughing hahaha

p.s. Don’t you think the ending of Dai-Nipponjin… the cast who played the Justice team was actually the other 4 Gaki Members dressed up in costumes for fun?? ^^

I really think so cuz there is one that likes to hit the enemy in the head alot (I’m thinking Hamada)… there’s one who is quite tall (I’m sure it’s Tanaka)… there’s one who quite chubby and small… (Umm… I’m thinking Yamasaki) and the other one… (possibly Endo).
anyways… I’m sure that the ending scene for this movie was pulled off by them, Only they could come up with material like that ^^.

I thought the same thing V-KeiGuy88. Sadly it is not them.

It’s
Kiyozumi Honda
Satoya Ishii
Seijirô Nakamura
Yûki Baba

Ahhh… thats a shame… but still it’s a Really funny scene haha… I could’nt stop laughing ^^ !!!

I agree. By far one of the best scenes in the movie. Its soooooooooooooo funny!

yea the ending was brilliant… a totally one-sided battle… xD

they give the sister a nice name, “don’t touch me” LOL

Its one of the best, funniest and strangest movies i have ever seen, and it is absolutely amazing! The last scene was just stunning! Cant wait to see Matsumotos next film!

hello everyone… i would love to see this movie, is there any MegaUpload link? i’m a bit afraid to download from torrent links since i had some issues with our internet service provider on torrent downloads before. i hope someone could help me? ?(

nvm… i found the movie in veoh… im going to download it from there…

both are english subbed =)

funny thing i noticed. In the 4th Episode of the 5 Rangers, where Matsumoto dresses up as Mori Building, he says (if you can believe the subs) " I wanted to be a big man" and Hamada replies " You’re more like a monster than a hero" and then Matsumoto again " I wanted to be a big man and a multiple being" .

I watched this movie a couple of weeks ago. Pretty good movie, but I, too, think the whole movie should’ve been done the way the ending was

video and some pics of Matsumoto at Cannes for his movie :

I watched the movie yesterday after I bought it online a week ago - isn’t it strange that there is even a German dubbed DVD available (altough I watched it in Japanese with German subtitles, of course!)[/size:srgagzrc]? But it’s a nice limited edition with postcards and special features like a Making-Of (in which you see of course how the movie was made, but also their travelling to Cannes)[/size:srgagzrc] and deleted scenes.

To the movie itself: I liked it. Actually a lot. I liked the atmosphere of it and especially the main character played by Matsumoto. But the much I liked the ending, I was also a little bit disappointed, because I really wanted to know what will happen to Dai-Nipponjin in the end.

I also have to add that at first I was more like “meh, not very exciting”, but after watching the Making-Of and thinking about the whole set-up, I really started to like it a lot. Because as a director Matsumoto is really talented and his style of directing this movie (having a script, but not sticking to it and let the actors actually improvise)[/size:srgagzrc] is reallyreally great.

Oh my god, and how much I laughed at the scene with the baby monster![/size:srgagzrc]

i just watched this as well. It’s a good movie, but the subs I have are very sub-par… I can pick up a few Japanese words now and I can tell that it’s not translated well in the version that I watched in.

How is the actual DVD’s subs? Is it a lot better? If so, I might as well buy the dvd, because the honeyko translations are downright confusing at times.
